Polish apple cake

For all of you who were at Grandma and Grandpa’s Anniversary I brought a polish dessert that I found on the internet. Scott, thought that trading recipes online would be fun so I thought I would start with this one.
I thought this tasted pretty good. The one word of warning when you cook this it is pretty heavy and took a little more time then I thought to cook. Also make sure you us a tube pan (Bunt pan) because I put one cake in a bread loaf pan and it was a big sloppy mess.
POLISH APPLE CAKE
3 large apples, unpeeled, cored and sliced into eighths
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 cups sugar
4 large eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup orange juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups sifted flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Grease tube pan and dust with flour, shaking out excess.
Place apples in large bowl and mix with cinnamon and 5 tablespoons of the sugar.
In separate bowl, beat eggs and gradually add remaining sugar, oil, orange juice and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Combine with egg mixture and mix until blended.
Pour 1/2 of the batter into prepared pan. Layer with 1/2 of the apples. Repeat layers, ending with apples on top.
Bake at 350 degrees 1 1/2 hours until golden on top. Let stand a few minutes and then unmold onto rack. Cool completely. Makes about 12 servings.
