Wine Help

May 1st, 2006 at 05:02pm Jenn

Ok, my one boss’ b-day is coming up next week… she is turing 40 and is a big wine fan.  Now I don’t know too much about wine so I am hoping that those of you that know more can maybe point me in the direction of some nice wines (just not too expensive).  I would like to get a bottle or two.  Thanks in advance for any help.

From what I have seen and heard, Australian wines are becoming very popular. They are supposed to be pretty good, but low in cost. For Pizza Nights, we have had most everything by Jacob’s Creek (which is Australian), and enjoyed it all. Another wine that we have all enjoyed at Pizza Night is St. Suprey. Again, everything by that winery we have liked. They are a little more expensive than the Aussie stuff though.

    Jen,
Do you have an idea of the type of wine he likes? One of my favorites is a Chianti Gabb\iano Reverve abot $12-14 a bottle or Penefold’s Canuga Hill Cabernet-Shiraz blend is good.

    Jen,

Most Anything from the napa valley will be really good., but expect to pay over 20-25 per bottle.

rutherford hill is a great napa merlot.
greg norman has a great cabernet/merlot that is resonably priced 10-15 per bottle

Santa Christina - one of my favorites its a toscana/sangiovese that is impoted, but only 14 a bottle. unless you get it on sale.
