Murray’s goodbye

It is with great sadness that we have decided to put Murray to rest this coming weekend.

If you weren’t aware, Murray has kidney failure which now has resulted in 20% kidney function.  The doctor says he could have 30% left, but more likely only 20%.  He has bladder and bowel loss, and bascially is out of it.  His quality of life is not what it should be.

It’s a very hard decision to make, to know that you hold the life of someone else in your hands and your decision.  And though for selfish reasons, we want to prolong Murray, it’s not what is fair to him.  We were Murray’s third home, and longest home in his 13 years.  We’ve given him everything we could to make these past 6 years comfortable and secure.  And though he came to us with many “issues”, we loved him none the less because of them.

He will be missed, but heaven will be even more special having him.  We know he will be waiting at the pearly gates for us (most likely begging for french fries).

I would like to ask if everyone could say a little prayer for Murray this week.
