Georgia Trip

Well we headed down last week Wed thru Sat to see what was going on down in Atlanta. The trip was an interesting one. We started off by having our flight leave 20 minutes early which never happens but a nice start to the trip. When we arrived and stepped outside we were met with some very warm weather. As Jodi said, “Boy it is HOT down here”. We woke up Thursday morning and headed down to the Norcross branch. I wasn’t inside more then 5 minutes and they had someone go outside to drag Jodi inside. We were greeted by a bunch of wonderful people and spent the first hour taking a tour of the building. Next I went thru meeting some of the key people down there and sat down for about a 1 hour interview. After that we headed out to lunch with my potential new boss and the head of Human Resources. Lunch was very nice as we shared stories and talked about the Atlanta area.
When we returned to the office Jodi and I talked with the soon to be Branch Manager about potentially coming down to Georgia. That meeting seemed to go pretty good and it was sounding pretty promising. Of course as we were told they move very slow down there and he said they should have the process concluded in the next couple of weeks. Which was surprising to me figuring with me coming down there, that they would be close to deciding. Well we said our final good-byes to everyone we met and had one more talk with Wayne (future boss) which went really good and sounded like we had his vote for getting the job. We had one of those heart to heart talks about making the move which went good. So it was then back to the hotel and off to the Malls.

We spent the rest of the night doing some shopping, and driving around getting lost. We woke up on Friday and met with a realtor who took us on a tour of the suburbs and showed us a few houses. Here is a picture of one of the houses that we saw.

We found the subs out there to be extermely neat. Most subs are what they call swim and tennis subs. Which of course means exactly what it sounds like. The sub that this house was in had a total of 2,500 homes in it ranging from 200,000 up to 1,000,000. All the homes seemed to be on rolling hills which was very pretty. All of the homes we look at had walk out basements which made all of them seem really really nice. After we were done looking at the houses we headed back to the hotel to take a little nap..(this was some what of a vacation so we did not want to work to hard). For our evening activity we started with more shopping and then headed to a park called Stone Mountain. Here are a couple of pics from the park.

Here we spent just a little bit of time looking at all of the little shops, had a real nice dinner at Aunt Millie’s which was a old style rest. and caught the night laser light show.
Saturday morning quickly came upon us which we didn’t do a whole heck of alot and headed back to the airport and made our way back home to Michigan.
Hopefully we will here something either way by I’m guessing sometime next week.
