Too Good To Be True

Two weeks ago I purchased a new ceiling light for our master bedroom, on-line.  When I first saw the fixture, it was on sale, but a little expensive, so I decided to continue browsing.  A couple days later I saw that the ceiling light I originally liked was now on clearance at half price, so I decided to order.  It arrived and Rich went to install it, but found there were not instructions and no picture included.  (We had to keep running to look at it on-line.)  Well, he tried three different times, but it just didn’t look right.  The bowl of the light was up too close to the ceiling covering all the lovely metal scrolling.  I called the company the next day.  The very helpful young woman I spoke with said they wouldn’t want me to return it because it was a clearance item and they had no use for it, but they would issue me a credit.  I could then either keep the light or get rid of it.  We figured out what the light needed, spent a couple bucks to replace the too short part with a longer one, and now our new FREE ceiling light looks just great!

 Last week, after shreding a small pile of papers we no longer needed, our shredder quit running.  It would run in reverse, but it wouldn’t shred.  Years ago we purchased a shredder that was still running, when we decided to get a cross cut shredder.  The first one we purchased was a cheaper one, though it cost twice what we paid for the old regular shredder.  The first cross cut shredder lasted about two months.  The blades actually became mangled inside.  Well, we decided to purchase a much better, and more expensive coss cut shredder.  So when it stopped running, Rich tried oiling it, cleaning it, and dismantling it, but still nothing happened.  So, today he called the company to see what we could do to get it repaired.  Needless to say, they are sending us a NEW shredder in about a week!!
