Day 2 of the head pain hospital

September 27th, 2008 at 12:00pm Jodi

Yep, we have internet access in the hospital. Who would have thought!

Today is my second full day, I arrived on Thursday night. So far, all is well. This headache center has a good process and I feel like I will leave with my head pain under control or gone. They expect me to be here 10-12 days.

Every morning you meet with a team of doctors and they round table what your care should be, the next step and any change in meds. It’s actually pretty neat. The nurses are on top of you each day as to how you feel. Here’s the nice part, you are not confined to your room, and actually, they want you to walk outside or visit with others in the ward. You are responsible for getting your own linens and towels, you have to get your own food and eat in the dining room and there are different activities each day as well as support groups you go to. They even have a laundry mat for us to do our laundry.

I am only 2 days in, but am really hopefull they will be able to help me.

I miss ya babe but I too hope this will be the last medical stop for you as you will be on your way to getting better. It was great to see you last night. If there was gasoline her in Georgia, I would drive up again…. :)

Miss ya too. I wish you could be visiting each night, but at least I can talk to ya. I’ll be home soon and with the boys in tow.

Thanks Scott and Angie. I am hopeful. I’ve meet folks from all over the country that are in the same boat. it’s really comforting that I am not out of my mind, that this is much more wide spread then people know about. Luckily, I am here only being 11 weeks in, many are YEARS into a daily migraine. UGH, I couldn’t imagine years of 24/7 head pain.
